1.What is MOLD-RAM?

MOLD-RAM is a surface mold and mildew prevention product. It prevents surface mold and mildew from forming, but does not rid an area of existing mold.

2. What is the active ingredient in MOLD-RAM?

MOLD-RAM contains the proven and trusted fungicide chlorothalonil. It is one of the world’s most respected contact anti-fungal compounds.

3. Who can apply MOLD-RAM?

MOLD-RAM can be applied by mold specialists and pest management professionals.

4. Is MOLD-RAM registered by the Environmental Protection Agency?

Yes, MOLD-RAM received EPA registration in 2004. However, it is not currently available in every state. Contact us or your MOLD-RAM distributor for registration information.

5. Where can MOLD-RAM be applied?

MOLD-RAM is registered for use on wood, wallboard, concrete and masonry (cinder) block construction materials.

6. What type of structures should be treated with MOLD-RAM?

Homes and buildings under construction or existing homes and buildings can be treated with MOLD-RAM. (See question 19 for more information.)

7. How is MOLD-RAM applied?

MOLD-RAM is easily applied with a sprayer or paintbrush. See label.

8. Can MOLD-RAM be used as part of a mold remediation program?

Yes, MOLD-RAM can be used in conjunction with mold remediation programs. It is the perfect followup product for preventing new surface mold and mildew. Keep in mind, however, MOLD-RAM can only be applied after all visible mold growth has been removed and conditions conducive to new mold development have been corrected.

9. Can MOLD-RAM be tank-mixed with other products?

Yes, MOLD-RAM can be tank-mixed with borate products used for termite control and the prevention of wood decay.

10. Does MOLD-RAM control wood or fungal decay?

No, MOLD-RAM is only a surface mold and mildew prevention product.

11. Does MOLD-RAM leach?

No. In field tests, MOLD-RAM demonstrates superior adhesion and wash-off resistance.

12. How is MOLD-RAM packaged?

MOLD-RAM is sold in an easy tip-and-measure 1-quart container.

13. How is MOLD-RAM mixed?

Mix MOLD-RAM with water at a rate of 2.5 ounces per gallon to cover approximately 500 square feet of building material surface.

14. How much area can be treated with a quart of MOLD-RAM?

One quart of MOLD-RAM will cover approximately 6,250 square feet.

15. What color is MOLD-RAM when applied?

MOLD-RAM is white in color when applied and dries clear.

16. Can a dye be tank-mixed with MOLD-RAM?

You may add a spray pattern indicator or permanent dye, if desired. Care should be taken when applying a permanent dye with MOLD-RAM to avoid any off-target application.

17. How do I know if enough MOLD-RAM has been applied?

Wet surfaces evenly, without runoff or pooling, and allow to thoroughly dry.

18. Does an overlayment material need to be applied following a MOLD-RAM application?

Yes, interior living spaces must be covered with an overlayment, such as: paint, wallpaper, siding, wallboard or flooring.

19. Should personal protective equipment (PPE) be used when applying MOLD-RAM?

Yes, long-sleeved shirt and long pants, shoes plus socks, protective eye wear and waterproof gloves.
